What happens on the day
Discover for yourself some of the Tower's sights and stories. Join one of the famous Yeoman Warder tours and hear exciting tales from the Tower's past. This is one of the most popular attractions for visitors to the Tower where the Yeoman Warders (popularly known at 'Beefeaters') will entertain you with tales of intrigue, imprisonment, execution, torture and much more?
Visit the astonishing collection of Crown Jewels. Discover the history of these priceless symbols of the British monarchy. You'll find them under armed guard in the Jewel House at the Tower of London. Walk through the surprisingly rich colours and comfortable furnishings of the Medieval Palace which contained fabulous interiors used by medieval kings and queens during their frequent but short visits to their most important fortress.
Visit the White Tower built by William the Conqueror, which today houses displays from the Royal Armouries' collection. You can't miss its four distinctive turrets at the centre of the Tower of London ? overlooking the River Thames. Explore the story of how the Tower was attacked and defended in the interactive Fortress displays. Pace the battlements, handle crossbows and explore the Tower's history as a formidable royal fortress. Need to know about Virgin Experience Days
Tower of London and Cream Tea:
- No Minimum age
- No height or weight restrictions
- Unfortunately this is not a spectator experience ? it's just for the two of you to enjoy!
- As a guideline you should allow at least 3 hours to make the most of your visit to the Tower but there is no limit to the visiting time. Cream tea is served in the New Armouries Cafbetween 14.00 - 17.00.
- Whilst the Tower welcomes all visitors, this historic building has places with difficult stairs and passageways and wheelchair access is limited. There are also a large number of steps throughout the Tower with cobbles laid in some of the roads. However, the Jewel House and the Crown Jewels are fully accessible to all visitors.
